Turus Mara run daily trips to the Treshnish Islands from Ulva Ferry on Mull and from Oban in association with Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries.
The Treshnish Isles are the largest seabird colony in our area with many thousands of birds returning each year. Lunga is the primary breeding site with puffins, gullemots, razorbills, shags, fulmars, kittiwakes, storm petrels and manx shearwaters all choosing this offshore sanctuary for its relative safety from predators and proximity to feeding grounds.
In recent years the numbers of puffins on the Treshnish Isles have been increasing although the species has been added to the conservation Red List because half the entire UK population breeds in only a few sites.
