Many folk missed our trips to Fingal’s Cave and to see the Staffa puffins last year as the season only really opened up right at the end of the puffin breeding period. We are delighted to now have the opportunity to offer a longer and more ‘puffin’ friendly season. Turus Mara believe that ‘Puffin Therapy’ could be just the thing following such a challenging year and will be happy to facilitate this both on Staffa and at the more extensive colony on the Treshnish Isles.

It is possible to join our trips to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles from Ulva Ferry on Mull or by joining a day trip via Calmac from Oban. We also run a courtesy bus from Tobermory which can pick up in Salen or Dervaig for those who wish to leave the car behind and be able to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the North and West of Mull en route to a trip to Staffa and Fingal’s Cave.

We coined Puffin Therapy a long time ago to describe the effect that communing with the many hundreds of puffins on the islands has on visitors. It is abundantly clear that this form of relaxation must be missing in all our lives given the obvious change in people who have this experience. It is quite simply impossible not to be captivated by puffins!
