STAFFA LANDINGS CONTINUE FOR THE REST OF 2022
Due to issues with the pier improvement contract the National Trust for Scotland will NO LONGER require operators to stop landing from the middle of August as was previously expected. We will now continue to land, weather permitting, for the remainder of the 2022 season.
While we welcome plans to improve the landing area, and hope these can progress in due course, the current delay means that for the rest of 2022 visitors will still be able to get ashore. It is a great experience to view the island from the boat, and some parts are only really visible from the sea, but most visitors also prefer to get their feet on the basalt rock if possible and to walk into Fingal’s Cave.
Our Staffa tours from Mull and Oban will continue as normal until the end of October and we will keep visitors updated on any news about plans for the major part of the works which now look likely to happen next year – with the possibility of causing more challenges at that point. As soon as we know more we will get the info out and about.
